New Static || Willa Jay
When ABQ pop artist Willa Jay’s team reached out to ask me to participate in her remix album, I happily agreed and start chopping up stems that same day. I think the result stands as an excellent example of what a New Static remix can be: an eclectic combination of Art Rock, Electronic, and Metal influence neatly integrated into this short but sweet package.
New Static || Tauri
During my time collaborating with art-pop artist Tauri, I have written, produced, and recorded multiple songs in addition to producing various artwork and promotional materials as needed. Among these songs is “In the Dark” which also serves as the demo song included with the 4.0 release of my digital audio workstation of choice: Bitwig Studio. All of the work was written and recorded in my home studio in Santa Fe, NM,
some (where)
The first track released under the moniker “New Static”, “some (where)” is as experimental electro-acoustic composition featured in my VR dance piece “some (where) you aren’t”. In collaboration with choreographer Audrey Collette, the piece aimed to emphasize the arbitrary distinction between technology and nature. The track itself is a combination of soft ambience, harsh noise, and IDM inspired percussion.
Sleeptaker
One of my earlier recorded projects was math metal outfit Sleeptaker. Featuring brutal breakdowns, mind numbing riffs, and enough time signature changes to make a prog rock musician blush, Sleeptaker’s album “Could Have Moved Mountains” stands as one of the heaviest releases in the Enteledon Records catalogue. I think it’s pretty good for an album recorded in my basement!
